Large Latin American Mobile Operator Selects CALLUP’s SIM OTA Platform for Remote SIM Cards Management
Rosh Haayin, Israel, July 7, 2015. CALLUP, a provider of Value Added Services (VAS) and Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions for the telecom industry, today announced that a large Latin American mobile operator has selected CALLUP’s SIM OTA platform for remote management, over the air, of files and applets on SIM cards. CALLUP’s platform will replace an existing SIM OTA solution.
CALLUP’s SIM OTA will enable the Latin American operator to take complete control of the company’s SIM cards and dongles by remote means. The cost effective platform will remotely manage the operator’s entire SIM cards life cycle – from activation of new accounts, through various upgrades and roaming updates, to SIM card cancellation and swap. Using a user-friendly interface that is SIM vendor agnostic, the SIM OTA comprises various features and capabilities, such as secure Remote File Management, Remote Applet Management, Steering of Roaming, Location Tracking, Welcome SMS, and other remote, over the air SIM operations. The platform supports push-to-talk services.
“The Latin American operator selected CALLUP’s SIM OTA for its superb quality and capabilities, and for the strong reputation of CALLUP and its attractive pricing,” said Alon Roth, CALLUP’s CEO. “Over the last few month SIM OTA has been selected by mobile operators in Europe and Israel. CALLUP’s products have gained an excellent reputation for innovation and quality, and this deal demonstrates our growing strength.”
A cost-effective solution, CALLUP’s SIM OTA includes a built-in Short Message Service Center (SMSC) to manage all the SIM OTA settings, and CALLUP’s DM (Device Management) product. The platform supports 2G, 3G and 4G including Universal SIM (USIM) over the air, through the Internet.
A smart campaign management system enables the mobile operator to update parameters remotely on all its SIM cards. The system will automatically repeat the update process on SIM cards that could not accept the original update due to various reasons, such as devices that were turned off or subscribers who were in roaming.
Using SIM OTA, operators can create dynamic distribution lists based on various criteria, enabling them to update specific groups of cards according to the pre-defined parameters. In addition, SIM OTA enables online management of a single SIM card.
